How to upload a Photo or picture

  1. Before a picture or photo can be included in the site, it must be uploaded to our site.
  2. Please use JPEG (.Jpg) files - these typically offer the best compromise of quality vs file size (eg how long it takes to display).
  3. Transfer the picture onto your computer from your camera, or liberate it from the Internet (Right Click, Save Picture)
  4. Save them on your computer in a folder you will be able to remember in a bit - maybe create a new folder c:\_spgs for ease of finding
  5. Please try and make sure that the pictures aren't too big since we do have a limit on the amount of material that we can store.  Also, we need to ensure that the pictures don't take too long to display.  You can use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to compress the images, try to keep them under 100k if possible.
  6. Finally, please name the pictures so they sort together (eg Tour_Day1.jpg, Tour_Day2.jpg) - when you come to insert the pics there are no folders so we have to select by name only.
  7. Go to the part of the site where you want to insert the picture
  8. Click the Image button on the toolbar
  9. You may need to install a Microsoft Add-In at this stage, it is safe - follow the instructions and you may need to click in an area at the top of the page to activate it
  10. Click Upload Image
  11. Browse to the pictures you want to upload and click OK
  12. You can now select the image to insert
  13. You can size the image by dragging the white "handle" in its lower right corner.
