Captain Alan Cabot Welcomes all Visitors to St Peter's Golf Society's new Web Site

Dear Society Members and World Wide Web Visitors,

St Peter's Golf Society is based in Jersey Channel Islands and was very proud to celebrate our 15th Anniversary in 2008.

The Society currently has in the region of 90 members and its playing calendar has fixtures at every golf course in Jersey.

The Society is grateful to La Moye Golf Club where we start our playing season with the La Moye Classic which is a great day out for both golf and charity.

Our season then continues with our Order of Merit played at Les Mielles, Wheatlands, St Clement and Les Ormes.

The season culminates at The Royal Jersey Golf Club at Grouville in December and we thank them for hosting our team event that also has a strong charitable emphasis.

During the season St Peter's Golf Society has three teams playing in the Condor Ferries Golf League at Les Mielles Golf and Country Club. The Society has a tough challenge this year to retain its knockout trophy but will be hoping to regain a league title.

The Society calendar also has fixtures against other Societies as well as a 3 Club Challenge, a Tombstone, a Blind Pairs competition, a Texas Scramble, the Captains v Vice Captain match, an A B C match and one or two other competitions as well as an individual knockout competition.

To help celebrate the 15th Anniversary the Society had a tour in May 2008 to Vilamoura for a week's golf and also a weekend tour to Normandy in September.

On July 5th the Society had its Invitational Competition at Les Mielles Golf and Country Club where His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, Lieutenant General Andrew Ridgway CB, CBE and invited guests  played 18 holes of golf and then attended the presentaion dinner at the Pomme D'Or Hotel.

In 2008 the Society contributed in excess of £4,000 to charity and will be proud to continue these donations to Jersey Hospice, Cancer Research and Prostrate Cancer in 2009.

I would like to thank our members and our generous sponsors for supporting St Peter's Golf Society.

I look forward to your continued support in the future.

Yours Sincerely

Captain Cabs
